Já foram selecionados os 340 projectos nomeados para concorrer ao prémio de arquitectura contemporânea Mies van der Rohe Award 2009 para a União Europeia. O prémio teve início em 1987, e os vencedores do tamanho de Zaha Hadid, OMA, Perrault, e Siza-Mansilla Tuñón seu último vencedor, é o mais importante realizado na Europa e é atribuído bienalmente a projectos concluídos dentro dos dois anos anteriores.

O objetivo do prêmio é reconhecer o caracter excepcional da arquitectura contemporânea de soluções que se destacam pelas suas soluções conceptuais, estéticas, técnicas e construtivas e pela sua contribuição para a construção da Europa.

Already selected the 340 projects were nominated to compete for the prize for contemporary architecture Mies van der Rohe Award 2009 for the European Union. The award began in 1987, and the winners of the size of Zaha Hadid, OMA, Perrault, and Siza-Mansilla Tuñón his last winner, is the largest held in Europe and is awarded biennially to projects completed within the previous two years.

The objective of the award is to recognize the exceptional character of contemporary architecture solutions that are distinguished by their solutions conceptual, aesthetic and technical design and its contribution to the construction of Europe.
